Crooked House is an event for all people, regardless of race, gender, orientation or physical ability. If something or someone makes you feel uncomfortable – no matter how small it seems – you can report it to a member of festival staff and they will work with you to make sure it doesn’t have to spoil the festival for you. Respect your fellow festival-goers and look out for each other. If you see someone behaving badly towards other people, please alert a member of the festival staff.

Security Measures

Entry

Entry into Crooked House is subject to body and/or bag search. We reserve the right to confiscate items and or remove persons suspected of carrying items that may be used in an offensive or dangerous manner or carrying out illegal activities onsite.

Security

We have on-site 24hr security and stewards who are there watching over things so that everyone can enjoy the festival as much as possible. Friendly but firm if you need them. They are there to protect you but promise to always be approachable and fair.

Please look after all your valuables during your time at the festival. Remember, your possessions are your responsibility, so only bring what you need – the less stuff you need to keep an eye on, the better.

Bag searches will be conducted upon entry. Anyone found to be in possession of banned substances or items will be refused entry and the appropriate legal action will be taken. In this instance, no refunds will be issued. A list of these prohibited items can be found below:

Disposable BBQs – Visitors are permitted to bring purpose-built BBQs or small gas camping stoves. No disposable BBQs and no open fires in the festival site or campsite. Disposable BBQs will be confiscated.

Pyrotechnics / Flares / Fireworks
Animals (with the acceptance of previously agreed assistance dogs)
Lasers / Laser pens

Bag Searches

All bags are subject to search on entry. Please allow plenty of time for queues, entry procedures, ticket checks and searches.

Age Restrictions

18 & Over

Anyone 18 or over is welcome to attend the festival, however, you will be asked to show proof of age on entry to access the event.

We accept the following forms of ID:

Your current passport – photocopies are accepted to gain entry but NOT to purchase alcohol at the bars.
Your UK Driver’s Licence or Provisional Licence
Citizen Card
Please note we cannot accept other forms of ID. Photocopies will only be accepted to gain entry but the real document will have to be shown to purchase alcohol.

Challenge 25 Policy

A challenge 25 policy will be in place for all alcohol sales on site.

If you look under 25, you will need a valid photo ID to be served alcohol.

Drugs Policy

We operate a Prevent, Pursue, Protect policy. This means, Prevent illegal drugs from getting onto the site, Pursue anyone suspected of supplying illegal drugs, Protect the festival-goers.

Crooked House has a zero-tolerance drug policy. Any illegal drugs will be confiscated and the police may decide to prosecute. New psychoactive substances, Poppers, and Nitrous Oxide are also strictly prohibited and may result in ejection from the event. Searches are a condition of entry to the festival.

If you or any of your friends are feeling unwell you can visit our on-site welfare team who will be able to help you.

What to do in an Emergency

If you witness or are a victim of a crime at the event, please inform a member of our staff, stewards or security personnel who will be easily identifiable on site. The quicker an incident is reported, the quicker we can act.

If you need to contact the Thames Valley Police to report a non-emergency crime or to provide information on a crime while at the festival, please call 101. In the unlikely event that you are unable to find a member of staff or security, please call 999.

Adverse Weather

Crooked House is situated on Beacon Park, as such, conditions during adverse weather may become hazardous. Please ensure you bring appropriate footwear and clothing to cater for the possibility of wet, muddy and slippery conditions.

Food & Drink Policy 

No Food Drink or Alcohol to be brought to the event all must be purchased form inside the event.

During an electrical storm:

Stay away from electrical equipment
Take shelter until the storm has passed
Avoid contact with any metal support of a structure
If you cannot get to shelter or are in a tent then you should crouch on your feet with your shoes on and your hands resting on your knees or covering your ears.

Personal & Onsite Welfare

The onsite welfare team is here to support any emotional or practical concerns. If you need to talk to someone or need any practical assistance or advice, the welfare tent is next door to the medical centre in the festival arena and is open 24 hours a day.

As well as general advice and support, they offer advice about drugs and alcohol, and your visit is completely confidential. If you at any time don’t feel very well or would like advise on alcohol or drugs, then the welfare and the medical team are here to support you. If you have an existing medical or mental health condition, and you think you might need to access these services over the course of the event, please pop by to introduce yourself to our friendly staff and we will do our best to accommodate you.

Admission to the event is at the Ticket Holder’s risk. Crooked House Events LTD and the Premises Licence Holder will not be held liable for any loss, injuries or damages sustained at the event including damage, theft or losses to property and motor vehicles if the cause is due to the negligence of the ticket holder or the actions of other patrons or thirds parties or force majeure.

Festival Safe

Smoking

Smoking is not allowed in the marquees but is everywhere else on the site. Please try to throw your stubs in the bins though – we’ve yet to find someone who enjoys picking them up!

First Aid

We have a dedicated highly trained first aid team on-site 24/7. If you’ve got any injuries or concerns about your welfare they are more than willing to help.

Fencing

The site fencing is in place to protect everyone at the event. Tampering with it is forbidden and may result in ejection from the event.

Aerosols

Aerosols are allowed on site but please be sensible and respectful to your fellow festival-goers. Misuse can result in ejection from the festival.
